I have always been grateful throughout my life for writing and all it has been for me. What started out as a way to express my feelings when I was still learning the finer points of handwriting to its role now as the way I make my income and what I use for personal enjoyment, writing has always been there.
I doubt there is often a day that goes by when I’m not writing for work purposes, working on creative writing or thinking about one or both. Writing is such a big part of my life and has long since been one of the big ways I identify myself.
I’ve written for school papers, newspapers, websites and blogs. I’ve written poetry, short stories and even a play. I’ve been published, been rejected and have not often been caught without pen and paper. The beautiful thing about writing is that it changes with me, travels with me and is everything I want it to be.
I am truly grateful for writing.
To all of you who are celebrating Thanksgiving, have an extra piece of pumpkin pie for me and have a wonderful day. Remember to be thankful, but also remember that you don’t need a holiday to show the ones you love how much you love them.
(You could remember that NaNoWriMo is ending soon, but that might spoil your day…)
